Provide superior customer service and support for SFNS program and service delivery and for member First Nation requests.

As programs and priorities evolve, the Administration team continues to adapt, providing consistent, high-quality support that contributes to the success of SFNS-wide initiatives.

Department Responsibilities

2023-24 Mentored Administrative Assistants with Lori Fisher, Executive Assistant
The Administration Department plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of SFNS, providing essential services to both internal departments and our member First Nations. From reception and document preparation to IT support, meeting coordination, and event logistics, the team ensures smooth operations across the organization. In addition to internal coordination, the department responds to requests from member First Nations, developing templates, conducting historical research, and assisting with other priorities as needed.

As a part of our commitment to capacity building, we continue to create opportunities for youth from our member First Nations through mentored and summer student positions. These opportunities allow youth to gain valuable experience through on-the-job training and support.
Support Services
SFNS delivers programs and services to our member First Nations in the following areas:
  • Post-Secondary Funding & Support Services
  • Technical Services
  • Employment & Training Support Services (ISETP)
  • Economic & Capacity Development
  • Financial Advisory Services
SFNS is governed by a Board of Directors, with one member appointed by Band Council Resolution from each member First Nation. Administrative support is provided to the Board of Directors as well as the London District Chiefs Council by verifying quorum, recording minutes, and maintaining ongoing communication with Chiefs, Council Secretaries, and Band Administrators or Director of Operations.
Communication
Communications at SFNS plays a critical role in supporting all service areas and advancing the organization’s strategic priorities. Through clear, respectful communication, we work to strengthen relationships, raise awareness of programs and opportunities, and ensure transparency in how we share our work and results.

SFNS continually strives to improve communications to member First Nations through various means:
