Building Capacity, Builds Nations

Knowledge, Empowerment, Confidence, Strong Leadership.

This past year SFNS organized and sponsored a Governance series and invited the leadership and managers from our member nations to attend.  The series included workshops on How Government Works, Governance Requisites for Leaders and Strategic Planning for First Nations.

The passing on of knowledge/experience and mentoring the next generation of leaders is common place.  Workshop and training opportunities re-enforce this practice and provides a structure that is complementary to informal learning.  Workshops also provide an excellent networking opportunity for leaders to exchange information and ideas.

The participant evaluations from this governance series indicate that the workshops are much needed and appreciated.

Watch for a future announcement of the next series for 2019.   Potential topics include Administration Training, and Financial Literacy.
