Funding Development Assistance for
Member First Nations
Our Proposal Writer is responsible for identifying opportunities and needs in our member First Nations through collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. This includes working with staff to source and access external funding opportunities in a variety of areas. Proposals may be First Nation specific, SFNS specific, or regional in approach. The Proposal writer will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end proposal process utilizing excellent research and communication skills to persuasively and articulately achieve winning proposals as requested by authorized staff from our member nations.
Why have a proposal writing resource at SFNS?
The focus of this position is to research and publicize funding opportunities that are available to SFNS and our member nations. This could be for a specific project for the community or an RFP (request for proposal) from a federal or provincial government program. First Nation staff can opt to apply for the funding independently or they may request to collaborate with the proposal writer in the following areas:
